Must say, I love the smell of Bonfires…maybe because my birthday is the 6th of Nov right after Bonfire night so the smell has lovely happy connotations

rustling newspaper
breaks Sunday silence
birdsong plays the breeze

Not be beaten

It batters you with its storm,

Till it you are thoroughly worn.

It empties you of emotion,

Then it drowns your spirit in its ocean.

But I wont be that shell upon the shore,

I won’t let it beat me anymore.©
